TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS…

Driven | Open-Minded | Warm-Hearted

NAME THREE FEMALES THAT INSPIRE YOU.

The women around me in my close-knit circle of friends. Almost all of them are mothers and run their own businesses. I’m gob smacked at the level of motivation, selflessness and courage they have. Their multi-tasking skills are out of this world, and it shows through their thriving businesses and their beautiful children’s natures just how successfully they juggle the two. Beyond proud and inspired.
Entrepreneurial women such as PE Nation Founder- Pip Edwards for example. She’s the biggest go-getter, extremely fit and a single mum. She’s empowered herself and created an embassy around sports style and it went viral. I remember soft sanding one morning in Bondi and passing her and she told me all about this new project she was working on and her drive even in the conversation was addictive. When I first began the single mum journey, I felt embarrassed and ashamed, but seeing empowering entrepreneurs like Pip handling it, gives me the motivation to hold my head high and continue to push my limits.
My grandmother aka Nan. Wow, she’s been through a lot. In recent years a double mastectomy at age 88, followed by Myocarditis led her to a heart attack and 4 months in the hospital alone during the pandemic. It was heartbreaking to witness her and pop go through such pain and heartache. She is currently in a nursing home and her witty sense of humour, positive energy and love for wine remind me to try to keep positive and have a sense of humour even through life’s toughest obstacles. They really shape who you are as a person.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WORK WITHIN A WOMEN-LED SPACE?

I began my PR career working for a PR Queen in Surry Hills. She was well-established in the celebrity, music and media world. She had it all the cool office space, a beautiful apartment in Surry Hills and respect. I looked at her being this 20-something thinking “wow I want to be like her one day.” She had no time for relationships (now happily married to a lovely man), but at the time her drive was so strong, her focus was bringing her clients successful campaigns.
Now in my 30s and being a mum, I implement the same determination that she showed me all those years ago. Being my own boss, and being a woman, I’ve shown myself how strong I truly can be.

HOW DO YOU ENVISION THE FUTURE OF WOMEN-LED BUSINESSES FOR THE NEXT GENERATION TO COME?

I envision flowing respect within the work place and not just between masculinity and femininity but between roles in a hierarchical setting. The shift is already happening with emerging generations booming with open creative minds, setting their bars high with integrity and open hearts. Times are changing for the better and I’m excited to see what the future holds in the working world.

WHAT SPARKS PASSION IN LIFE FOR YOU?

Passion in life is sparked daily for me through my surroundings as a whole. From the moment I wake up to my son’s cuddles, to running on the sand and diving into the ocean, I’m surrounded by inspiring, creative and witty people. Seeing my client's faces when they reach their goals. I have a huge sense of appreciation for life, and I take moments to say thanks.
