Name three females that inspire you.
I feel blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful women in business. The MAURIE AND EVE family represents a collective of women who each bring something unique to our culture and day-to-day running of the business, and it’s an honour to watch and learn from them.
Further to this, playing spectator to the incredible journey of artist Ash Holmes has been a wonder to behold, and my meditation mentor, Cass Hamill never ceases to amaze me. My mother, for showing me the meaning of unconditional love and finally, my daughters – each an ever-evolving source of growth and joy as they develop and flourish into their own.
What inspires you to work within a women-led space?
It is a privilege to be able to support and empower women while working towards our individual and shared goals. Manifesting a caring and creative environment here at MAURIE AND EVE has been a priority from day one and continues to prove a crucial pillar for the growth of both business and team. Feed the development of your people and business will follow … nurturing and supporting my staff’s natural talent is an unrelenting source of satisfaction for me and should be the focus of any modern business owner.
How do you envision the future of women-led businesses for the next generation to come?
Studies have shown that women-led businesses are far better for employee job satisfaction and outperform male-led companies. This is due to a respective culture of care that nurtures employees and is therefore better at inspiring belief in products or services. The result? More, overall employee engagement. The world’s perspective on women in the workplace has come a long way, but there’s still work to be done. Closing the gender gap, supporting, and empowering women presents a win-win situation for everyone in business, life, and love.
