Tell us about yourself in three words...

Introverted | Extrovert | Mother/Lover | Designer/Innovator - I know that’s 6, but I wear a lot of hats.

Name three females that inspire you.

My Mum: She was always creating, growing and redefining herself. She was a nurse, a herbalist, an iridologist, a naturopath, a masseuse, she was spiritual and while she always had a can-do attitude, she always brought me back down to earth because first and foremost she was an amazing mother. We sadly lost her 8 years ago, but she is always guiding me daily.

My Kids: They are always so happy, they make every day a pleasure and always remind me to have patience, to smile and to stop and smell the roses.

My Friends: They are strong, determined, innovative and creative forces to be reckoned with.

These people are pillars of inspiration and strength for me, without even knowing it.

What inspires you to work within a women-led space?

WOMEN! Women are truly amazing in every way from childbirth, to building businesses. I have known and worked alongside some truly inspirational women over the years who have taught me so much about myself and the industry. At Saturday the Label we strive to understand women and their needs within the intimate space by talking to them, listening to them and designing products that solve genuine pain points when it comes to buying lingerie.

Saturday the Label bridges the gap between daggy everyday underwear and expensive occasion-based lingerie, we instead design fashion-led lingerie that is fun, affordable and accessible from our simple sizing to our easy path-to-purchase process being sold in fashion stores and online.

It's easy to be a female-owned and operated business in this field because... we know boobs best, but its actually really educational working alongside women, they all bring a different points of view, opinions, shapes, sizes and lived experiences which we love to incorporate into the brand's methodology, ethos and the products we design from within it.

How do you envision the future of women-led businesses for the next generation to come?

I hope it continues on the trajectory that it is currently taking. Every day I see more and more female founders and women-led business pop up on my socials. It's so inspiring to see so many women jumping in and getting their hands dirty. I hope I can inspire future generations of women to take a risk and give owning a small (or big) business a go. As they say, you would rather look back and see 6 months of progress than 6 months of excuses. Fail fast, then get back up and keep going. I hope to see loads of healthy competition and loads of successful female founders
who embrace learning from one another.

What sparks passion in life for you?

Being creative is at the forefront of everything I do. At work and at home. Having two kids hanging off me while running a business to run is no mean feat, but I’m not alone so many women do it and it is hard but its also so rewarding when I tick things off my to-do list. It sounds simple, and I don’t do it perfectly all of the time (the juggle is real), but I do surround myself with things that bring happiness to drive a continual phase of learning and creativity. This in turn drives passion and growth.
